#Jubilicious

It seems appropriate, being the jubilee weekend, that I dedicate my first ever blog post to the Queen herself - so Happy Diamond Jubilee, Elizabeth Windsor. It's a shame, and yet suitably English that this weekend has so far been almost upstaged by rainfall, particularly as we had all been envisioning jubilant celebrations in the sun, made all the more jubilant by bottomless pitcher's of Pimms. It seems whenever the nation is all set for festivities and eagerly anticipating that sense of community that is so rarely felt nowadays, the heavens always insist on opening, and this weekend the weather seems to have stolen Lizzie's thunder. Although it is a royal pain in the arse we mustn't let the rain dampen our spirits, for sixty years on the throne truly IS monumental (as a history student/nerd, I can particularly appreciate this), and after all it is most probable that we won't live to experience another diamond celebration of this kind. So, let us all step out in our red, white and blue waterproofs, and party it up Brit style. Here's my pick of the best Jubilee, weather appropriate pieces:

Lulu Guinness, £475

Mantaray at Debenhams, £26

Religion, £70

Debenhams, £8
