I am a firm believer that the blazer is the ultimate
wardrobe staple. It can swiftly and effortlessly move an easy, almost scruffy day-time
outfit into the threshold of smart/casual; it can add that masculine touch to
that slightly-too-feminine dress; it can provide a perfect cover-up to hide
enough of that overly-revealing outfit underneath without hiding too much. It
is genius. It is balance. I wish I owned one in every colour under the sun, but
this summer it’s all about the white blazer. Earlier this year we saw its entry
onto the red carpets teamed with black as part of a subtle monochrome trend.
Classy, yet understated - this look is definitely fail-safe, but if you’ve got
enough confidence to pull it off with a high fashion twist then look to the
catwalk, where white was worn with white and more white for a block, strong
image. I’ll personally be wearing mine with denim shorts or jeans, for easy but
effective daytime wear.
